Policies

The banquet menus are designed to assist you in the selection of a menu for your event at the Detroit Golf Club. 
The items offered are some of our most popular, but by no means our limit.  If you desire an alternate menu, we will be delighted to customize a menu that suits your specific needs. Entrée selections for banquets should be limited to one choice, unless special dietary restrictions exist.

All prices listed are subject to change and Do Not Include gratuity and sales tax.

CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event of a cancellation within 72 hours of an event, the Detroit Golf Club will charge 50% of the agreed upon price based on a guest count when the event is booked.  As agreed, the deposit given is non-refundable.

MENU PLANNING: Specific menu choices must be complete at least three (3) weeks in advance of the event, whenever possible.  Final guest counts are due five (7) days prior to the event. All food and beverage will be provided by the Detroit Golf Club, with the exception of special occasion cakes.

SERVICE CHARGE: Food and beverage will be subject to a 20% service charge and 6% sales tax.

ROOM RENTAL: Events are subject to room rental fees for sponsored events, or when food service is not requested.

DEPOSITS: ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.  Booking the Ballroom or Holiday functions requires a $2,500.00 non-refundable deposit.  Booking any banquet room between Thanksgiving and Christmas requires a non-refundable deposit and minimum guest count depending on the room(s) reserved. If you wish to use the facilities beyond midnight an additional $1,000.00 per hour fee is required.

PAYMENT: Payment for sponsored events is due 20 days upon receipt of the bill.  Member event payments are due 20 days following month end billing.

PAYMENT TYPES EXCEPTED: Cash, Bank Check and Company Check.  Members only Charge to membership account.  

VALET PARKING: Any functions with guaranteed head count of 30 to 50 people would be a $50.00 mandatory valet charge to the final bill. Functions with guaranteed head count 100 or more people would be a  $150.00 mandatory charge to the final bill.  Discretionary tips are accepted.

COAT CHECK: A coat check attendant may be arranged for an additional fee of $50.  Discretionary tips are accepted.

GENERAL INFORMATION: For the ultimate success of your event, the banquet department will be happy to assist in the coordination of services such as tabletop decorations, flowers and ice carvings.

The Detroit Golf Club reserves the right to inspect and control all private functions.

Liability for damages to the premises, if it should occur, will be charged to the member sponsoring the event.  All outside groups are subject to the Detroit Golf Club policies and procedures.  The Detroit Golf Club is not responsible for any property left on the premises. 

The Detroit Golf Club operates in strict accordance with State regulations and the M.L.C.C.

DRESS CODE: Members and guests are required to adhere to the Club dress code.  Denim attire is not allowed on Club property, If dress code is not followed. The guest will be asked to leave and escorted of premise by a manager.
