When golf was new in mid-America, a group of prominent Detroiters fell in love with the game.

They sought the best advice and help available and came up with the first plans for Detroit Golf Club. That was in 1898.

GOLF FACILITIES

DGC remained a golf club for years before being developed into the full country club that it is today. Golf is still king at DGC, maintenance of the courses in finest condition comes first with each succeeding administration.

Two 18-hole courses designed by Donald Ross, are considered by top golfers among the finest in this part of the country. The minute you put foot on the North Course, you know it's a championship course. The South 18 plays a bit easier, but not much. Both courses offer fairways reminiscent of deep-pile carpeting. Greens are lush, close-clipped, true-rolling. Well-designated traps have been strategically placed by course experts.

There's plenty of opportunity to improve your game at DGC. Members enjoy a large driving range, a master putting green and a trapped practice green for work with irons. Help is available from an accomplished corps of teaching pros.

Both men's and women's locker rooms are large and equipped with most modern facilities. The Pro Shop is well stocked and serves also as a golf information center.
